Inside the Napoleon Perdis Event: A Hands-On Look at THE Beauty and Fashion WORLD
WORDS BY NFC STUDENT CAM CHUONG
I recently had the chance to be part of the Napoleon Perdis event, and it was such a fun and inspiring experience. It gave me a real insight into how much work goes on behind the scenes to bring an event like this to life.
On the first day, I was helping out with the makeup artist sets, making sure each kit had everything they needed. It was simple but super important, and the team was so welcoming that it instantly made me feel comfortable.
The second day was the big event, a press launch full of incredible energy. Before guests arrived, the interns and I helped set up the venue, from pulling together the product displays and making sure the space looked perfect. Seeing the room transform into such a beautiful setting was definitely a highlight!
Once everything kicked off, I was helping out wherever needed, greeting guests, encouraging them to enjoy makeup touch-ups with the artists, and cleaning brushes for the makeup team throughout the night. The staff were amazing and made the whole experience so enjoyable, even when things got busy.
On the third day, I helped with the bump out of the event. This meant packing down all the props, loading everything out, and heading back to the warehouse to unpack. I also helped store makeup kits, packed up the products, and cleaned the brushes again to make sure everything was ready for the next event. It was definitely heavy work at times, but it felt rewarding to see the full process come together from start to finish!
The event itself was unforgettable. The DJ kept the vibes high, the food and drinks were delicious, and the speeches from the CEO and Co-CEO made the night feel really special. Plus, being surrounded by so many fashionable people was so inspiring!
Overall, the whole experience taught me so much about events and the beauty industry. It was hands-on, fast-paced, and honestly just so much fun. Being able to see how a professional event comes together gave me skills in organisation, teamwork, and adaptability that I know will be useful in my career. More importantly, it confirmed how much I enjoy working in fashion and beauty — not just the creative side, but also the energy of live events and connecting with people. I walked away feeling inspired, motivated, and grateful to have been part of something so memorable.
