Inside the RUSSH Community Event: An NFC Student’s Experience in Fashion Publishing

WORDS BY NFC STUDENT, AREAN KARMOKAR

Studying at National Fashion College comes with its unexpected surprises, and the latest was an invitation to the RUSSH Community event. As someone who has always been fascinated by magazines and dreams of working in publications, I don’t think I’ve ever updated my calendar faster!

Hosted at Alma’s, the intimate bar created the perfect setting for a community of people who genuinely appreciate RUSSH and everything it represents. Magazines were scattered throughout the venue, inviting guests to pick up a copy, flick through the pages and take a little piece of RUSSH home with them.

Attending alongside my friends made the evening even more special, sharing conversations, taking photos and soaking in the atmosphere.

For someone hoping to build a future in the magazine industry, the evening felt like a small glimpse into a world I aspire to be part of. A reminder that sometimes, the most exciting opportunities come when you least expect them.
