STYLE SHOOT SELL: A Student-Led Fashion Portfolio Project Celebrating Creativity & Circular Fashion

Hi guys, I’m Zoe Marceaux (Zoe Mar on Instagram). I’m an international student from America and as some of you might know, I'm heading home to finish my studies overseas before making the move to Los Angeles to chase big dreams & a fashion future. Before I say goodbye to campus life at NFC Sydney, I wanted to create one last project that brings together everything I've learned, the amazing people I've met, and the creative community that's supported me along the way.

Introducing STYLE SHOOT SELL - a live portfolio project that combines styling, creative direction, photography, event production, and fashion... all in one!

This project is all about collaboration. I'll be styling and creatively directing a 12-look collection, working alongside fellow NFC students who'll help bring the vision to life as part of the creative crew. From assisting on set to shooting the final imagery, this is a chance for students to gain hands-on experience, build their portfolios, and create something exciting together.

But the project doesn't end once the camera stops rolling…

After the shoot, we'll be opening the doors to a fashion market where I'll be selling a selection of the pieces featured in the shoot, along with other curated items from my wardrobe. It's the perfect chance to shop unique fashion finds while supporting a fellow creative.

For me, this event reflects the reality of working in fashion. Like many emerging creatives, I've spent countless hours in unpaid internships, volunteering, and building experience because I genuinely love this industry. As I prepare for my next chapter, this market is a practical way to help fund my move home while also showcasing how creatives often have to think beyond the traditional path to make their careers work.

More importantly, though, STYLE SHOOT SELL is about community.

It's about giving pre-loved clothing a second life through circular fashion, creating opportunities for students to collaborate, encouraging entrepreneurship, and showing that creativity doesn't stop at the photoshoot. In fashion, styling, storytelling, production, and selling often go hand in hand — and this project celebrates all of it.
