How National Fashion College Helped Me Land My Dream Internship — And Find My Confidence

Choosing to study with NFC has been the best decision of my life, the connections I’ve made, experiences I’ve had the opportunity to take and the memories I’ve made, will stay with me forever.

One of the many experiences NFC has given me has been the internships, being able to use what we have learnt in class in the real world has taken the learning and understanding to new heights. I am able to learn something and then see it in action in the same week. 

My current internship has been with Silverfox MGMT, a mature modelling agency showing the world that style has no age limit. This has been an eye opening experience being able to see the ins and outs of the company and all the steps taken to secure clients for their talents. Working under Hannah Wijesinghe and Izzi their Melbourne Talent Agents, has been the best. Hannah and Izzi have welcomed me with open arms encouraging me to speak my voice with any ideas I may have which I’m truly grateful about. 

Not only is it a space for me to learn it’s also a space for me to make connections with the team and have fun in a comfortable and enjoyable environment, I’m so grateful that I am able to experience and be a part of the Silverfox team. They all have made me feel included from Bridget the CEO who took the time to talk to me and hear my fashion goals, and Roxanne Watkins the Sydney Talent Agent who invited me to meet her while i was in Sydney for AFW. Even Amber who is also an NFC student. And I can’t forget Dax; Hannah’s adorable little chihuahua.

I feel that through NFC and this internship I have become a new person, one who is now confident and unafraid of expressing my opinions and collaborating within a team. I feel that I am truly living my dream.
