ALL STUDENTS AT NATIONAL FASHION COLLEGE ARE GUARANTEED INTERNSHIPS & WORK EXPERIENCE DURING THE COURSE OF THEIR STUDIES, AS WELL AS THE OPPORTUNITY TO ASSIST AT AUSTRALIAN FASHION WEEK.
Internships & Work Experience are essential in the fashion industry, as they allow students the opportunity to explore a variety of industries and apply the theory they are learning in classes into practical scenarios.
National Fashion College facilitates individually tailored internships directly relating to the student's interests with the brands and companies they are eager to work with.
On average, On-Campus Students undertake at least four internships within their one-year of study, all organised and programmed by National Fashion College.
NFC works with over 600 brands, businesses & creatives to offer our students exclusive opportunities and internship experiences throughout their studies.
INTERNships
Internships are essential in the fashion industry, as they allow students the opportunity to explore a variety of industries and apply the theory they are learning in classes into practical scenarios.
Internships are carefully matched to individual interests and career goals, giving experience across areas such as editorial, styling, marketing, PR, buying, design, e-commerce, creative direction, social media, and more.
Our in-house Careers Department meets with every student to carefully map out an internship plan throughout their studies, ensuring students are gaining invaluable work experience and paving the path to their dream career in the industry. Students are individually mentored and provided continuous support, allowing the college an opportunity to work on student’s strengths, weaknesses and ensure goals and aspirations are met.
work EXperience
On-campus students also benefit from hundreds of exclusive experiences beyond internships. These one-off opportunities include photoshoots, events, runway shows, press launches, celebrity events, campaign activations, store pop-ups, and retail marketing, giving students hands-on exposure across the fashion industry.
Work Experience opportunities offer ways to gain insight and experience in a variety of fashion sectors. They allow students to explore different roles, build connections, and develop practical skills that complement their studies.
AUSTRALIAN FASHION WEEKS
Students have the opportunity to be part of Fashion Week events across the country, gaining hands-on experience with Australia’s leading brands, designers, stylists, agencies, and producers. Roles are available both front of house and backstage, providing practical skills and insight for a variety of fashion careers, including:
Model castings, fittings, and pre-show preparation
Front of house support, including VIP, media, and celebrity seating
Guest list management, ticketing, and event check-ins
Backstage assistance, including dressing models during shows
Public relations support, liaising with agencies and designers
Guiding media, photographers, and special guests
Networking with top industry professionals
These experiences give students a real-world view of the fashion industry, helping them build connections, develop professional skills, and explore a range of career paths.
